BIO
Hercilia Mendizabal Frers nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina. El idioma inglés fue parte preponderante de su educación, sumergiéndola en una formación totalmente bilingüe que la llevaría a buscar nuevas oportunidades en el exterior. Se mudó a los Estados Unidos, donde obtuvo un B.A. en Teoría Política de la Universidad de Georgetown y un M.A. en Literatura Española y Latinoamericana de la Universidad de Wisconsin, Madison. Desde entonces se ha desempeñado en ámbitos académicos y editoriales. Ocupó el cargo de subeditora en HarperCollins Publishers —para la entonces división de español, Rayo—, tras lo cual se dedicó al trabajo editorial freelance para casas editoriales de renombre tales como Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House y HarperCollins Publishers, así como al desarrollo y la edición de contenido para adquisición de idiomas para compañías como Berlitz y Vista Higher Learning.
Es traductora de ficción y no ficción, así como de literatura infantil y juvenil. El trabajo freelance le ha permitido vivir en diferentes puntos de los Estados Unidos y, más importante aún, visitar con frecuencia su adorada Sudamérica. Vive en los Estados Unidos desde hace más de dos décadas.
